The Golden Heart Gala, to be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at LeMont Restaurant on Mt. Washington offers a “Wee Bit ‘o Ireland” – with fine dining, spirits, prizes, and even a chance to win a trip to the Emerald Isle. Net proceeds from this event will provide Smart Technologies – increasing caregiver efficiency, resident safety, and communication methods for those whose family members cannot visit every day.

Technology has come a long way. Older adults
have witnessed everything from men landing on the moon to dramatic medical advances, and the rise of an internet-dependent society.
In 2019, Vincentian will continue to expand the use of technology to keep residents healthy, independent,
secure, and socially connected while making caregiving tasks less stressful for family members — but we need your help to
do it!
Imagine having the chance to video chat or use social
media to keep in touch with long-distance loved ones. Tech-savvy grandchildren and the children in our child care centers
love to play games or search the internet with older adults while
they are visiting. Even seniors who have not had a chance to master a
computer or smart phone can live a tech-enhanced life with
responsive devices to control lighting or listen to the weather or
their favorite songs — simply with voice command.
In our
nursing homes, caregiver efficiency can be enhanced with
high-tech medication and vitals monitoring, allowing for the most informed, up-to-the minute treatment decisions.
These are just a few ways that enhanced technology will improve our residents’ quality of life and help us
continue to deliver five-star care in new and Innovative ways.
